36-month carry-in-warranty
EPSON Germany Ltd, Otto-Hahn-Strasse 4, 40670 Meerbusch, hereinafter called EPSON, hereby grants purchasers of the EPSON 3-year-warranty extension for impeccable printer quality and performance an on-site warranty according to the following provisions:
1. Warranty scope
The warranty shall include the EPSON product with all EPSON parts. Within the frame of this warranty, EPSON hereby warrants that the printer is free of manufacturing and material defects as could impair or suppress the functionality of the printer insofar as the operating manual information enclosed with the printer upon purchase was observed, and the indicated print speed or the product maximum capacity (for EPSON Multimedia LC projectors max. 6000 operating hours) is not exceeded.
The warranty does not apply to consumables and any exchange thereof, like e.g. ink, toners, laser printer consumables and multimedia projector lamps, etc….
The warranty shall include the elimination of all printer damage or defects occurring within the warranty period and falling under the warranty by means of exchange against an equivalent printer or repair. The exchanged printer or exchanged parts become Epson's property. EPSON shall bear all material and labour costs as well as the printer transport costs to EPSON and return costs to the customer. This warranty is limited to the area of the European Union, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and of the Eastern European countries.
2. Warranty term
The warranty shall begin on the purchase date of the printer. If the end-customer also purchases the EPSON 3-year-warranty extension within one year following purchase of the product, the warranty period shall be extended to 3 years accordingly.
All warranty claims as were directly asserted against EPSON Service within the warranty term shall be processed. The warranty shall expire after three years from purchase of the printer, even if warranty works were performed.
3. Warranty process
Warranty claims shall only be processed if an invoice including all necessary information on purchase date, printer, seller and printer serial number is enclosed with the printer. EPSON may demand production of the original. Warranty is transferable, e.g. in the case of private sale, with the aforementioned original purchase receipt.
4. Exclusion of warranty
The warranty shall exclude any faults and damage due to incorrect use, faulty installation or setup, external influences, e.g. transport damage, damage caused by shocks or blows, repair or alterations that were carried out by unauthorised third parties. Furthermore, any damage that occurred as a result of using consumables that do not match technical requirements, like ink or toners, is excluded. Installation, application, network and driver software support are not included in the warranty. For EPSON stylus printers, the stylus printing head wear part is excluded from the 3-year-warranty.
5. Implementation of warranty
Alls requests for warranty work are to be made by phone via the EPSON Service. The purchaser is liable to check the printer via self-test programmes or to eliminate error messages upon telephone instructions. He is only entitled to performance of service if the fault cannot be eliminated remotely.
6. General provisions
This warranty finally regulates the legal relationship between the purchaser and EPSON. Insofar as liability is not stipulated by law, further damage claims are excluded.
This warranty is in addition to the existing warranty rights against the seller. The purchaser shall therefore also assert contractual or statutory warranty claims against the seller.
